Did you hear the adverts for Gradina Botanica by the bus stop? It spoke of experiencing “Linisterea primarii”, the peace of spring.
Yesterday, the Botanical Garden surveyed its clients about what they liked and what could be improved. Do you find the staff to be friendly? Is the place clean? Is there a large enough variety of plants? Is it easy to find your way around? Are the descriptions adequate?
Simply asking these questions means the garden is on the road to self-improvement. But they also asked the most important question: What is your favourite part of the garden? They want to make sure that any improvements do not lose sight of the things that visitors go there for.
They also asked which groups would benefit from the garden, on a scale of one to five. Very young children? People with limited vision or mobility? School children? Adults? Families? Tourists from within Romania? Foreign tourists?
If you go to the Botanical Garden, you might notice a few things. You missed the Garden of Lights; a keen-eyed observer might find a remnant here or there, but the garden looks clean. And, the spring flowers are beginning to grow.
Little stems of spring flowers, they look like tulips, are growing near the entrance of the garden.
We don’t know what changes the survey will bring to the garden, but nature is already beginning to bloom there. And in traffic islands and green spaces throughout the city, one of which might be sponsored by your workplace.
