Octavian Goga is in the news again. Buses 30, 27, 26, 26L, 28, 18B, 41 and 44 have temporarily changed their routes today.
So, bus 30 is avoiding Cluj Arena and Hotel Radisson Blu. Perhaps they will fix the hotel and add the final e to Blue?
Bus 27 is modified on the way to Piata Gari, the Station Square. Bus stops 14 Iulie Sud and Octavian Goga will be affected, being replaced by a stop at Giuseppe Garibaldi. On the way back, however, the route is unchanged.
The other buses mentioned are also avoiding Octavian Goga and 14 Iluie Sud. 14th of July, isn’t that the storming of Bastille? What’s wrong with Bastille Day? Again, Garibaldi is the alternative stop. I remember him from history class. If you had a teacher named Gary who was bald, please do not mock him by calling him “Gary Baldy.” That isn’t correct Italian, and there are a lot of bears in Romania. Remember what happens? Some say that bears attack naughty children who make fun of bald men.
Why are the stops changing? Apparently, it has something to do with a temporary bridge over the Somes river. It just happens to affect Octavian Goga and 14th of July. Nothing political to see here.
It is also Patrimony week at UBB (8-14th of June.) There are a lot of events, sorry, don’t have time to write about them all. Maybe later, if I go, I’ll give a review.
According to UNSAR-IRES, 8 out of 10 Romanians are worried about financial instability. Actually, it’s probably more, 80 percent have it as their primary concern. Cluj is still the most expensive city in Romania, so the numbers here are probably higher.
And, tomorrow, 9 June 2026, there will be a guitar concert. Gheorge Dima students will perform at 6pm in the Tudor Jarda hall. Okay, the main attraction will be the students from Tudor Jarda school.
